Join Tina for two half afternoons in November and you will transform a basic sweatshirt into a one-of a kind quilted jacket.
Tina has multiple examples of block and yardage combinations and embellishments to inspire you!
How about using some of your favourite Christmas prints for a festive seasonal quilted jacket? or maybe you'd prefer a nautical look to prepare for cruise season? Whatever color and style you choose, it will be one of kind! You will need a slightly oversized crew neck sweatshirt, a collection of orphan blocks, scraps and new quilt blocks or yardage.
You will learn how to piece the blocks on the sweatshirt, quilt the layers and stitch the sweatshirt into a jacket with a narrow binding edge.
Bring your sewing machine, a new or thrifted sweatshirt, 1.5 to 2 metres of fabric (including blocks and yardage) and scissors to trim the sweatshirt.
Depending on the complexity of your blocks and yardage combinations, you may not finish the jacket during the class time, but you will have a full understanding of how to complete the jacket at home.
